Newsies on Broadway was...meh!

Hello, my dears!  So Newsies was okay.  The cast's dancing was phenomenal, but the singing not as great.  Also, the sets were rather vague.  There was basically one thing that they moved around the stage.  It sort of reminded me of a show at Disney World.  Overall, it was not up to Broadway standards, and the entire show left much to be desired.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in London

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was a very good show.  Their sets were amazing, and Charlie was cast perfectly.  However, Veruca Salt's and Mike Tv's roles leave much to be desired.  Veruca yelled almost everything, and when she wasn't yelling, she was making all sorts of wierd faces.  Everything that Mike said was one tone; there was no expression.  Also, I personally think that this Willy Wonka's voice didn't fit the songs.  But, over all, the show was great! :-)

The Phantom of the Opera In London

The Phantom show in London was pretty good. However, it was not my favorite production of this show. The singing was good. The casting was wrong.  Christine's (Harriet Jones') voice, in my opinion, sounded more like Carlotta. And the dancing was out of sync, although they might have done that on purpose. Altogether, though, it was a pretty good production. (I am very critical of this play because it's my favorite.) :-)

Wicked on Broadway is WONDERFUL!

Its been a couple of years since I last saw Wicked. I thought it was good then, but this last time was so spectacular I'm having trouble putting it into words. Christine Dawyer portrayed the character of Elphaba so well that I forgot that it wasn't real for a second, and her voice! Well, let's just say I have a lot of work to do. The dancing was phenomenal, and the amount of talent in that cast is unbelievable. All in all, the entire production was a success. I would definitely advise anyone in the New York city area, or anywhere for that matter to see it.☺
